DOING IT MY WAY
A powerful, inspirational story of never giving up from Australia’s wildlife photographer, Jan Latta.
After decades trailblazing the advertising and publishing world as an independent woman, Jan took her spotlight in the hearts of thousands of children, sharing her love of endangered species through an astonishing collection of wildlife photographs, and a phenomenal ability to recount her most thrilling adventures.
Doing it My Way is an honest, warm and humorous account of how Jan finally found her true calling through a chance encounter with a mountain gorilla in Rwanda that changed her life and career.
She’s had dangerous adventures with lions, huge orangutans, cheetahs and a cranky rhino; as well as adorable encounters with mischievous chimps at Dr Jane Goodall’s sanctuary in Uganda, baby pandas in China, and wild sloths in Costa Rica.
Jan has led a unique and different life, having also established several highly successful businesses, which included publishing magazines for worldwide distribution for the Regent and Mandarin hotel groups, as well as a book for the Beverly Wiltshire hotel and travelling in Asia for Hyatt hotels.
All the while, she was learning how to be brave, to travel alone, to live life to the full, and do it her way.

What a contrast to being up close and personal with a dangerous rhino, hugging a baby orangutang and adopting a sloth in Costa Rica.
